Map Cabinet

Here is a custom cabinet unit we built for a client.  We were supplied with the caster wheels, and a recently refinished metal map cabinet that needed a nicely designed unit to house the bank of drawers.  The boxes were built with sapele (mahogany) and framed with salvaged fir from the demo of a remodel project.  The top is also a glued slab of salvaged timbers which we set from the boxes to create a shadow reveal giving a floating impression.  Two more large drawers were added to the bottom of the boxes from storage.

White Stallion

I consider the most important tool to the operation of the business as being the 1986 Ford truck I have driven for the past 5 years.  The truck was bought used with a Waste Vegetable Oil (WVO) conversion put on the rear fuel tank and was run primarily on WVO donated by local restaurants in Portland.  On the first long journey to Baja Sur, Mexico, the truck was named the "white stallion."  A few close calls with nature, tons of lumber and debris transports, a working stint in southern California, hundreds of miles per week,  and this truck fires up every morning with the let's get to work attitude.  This truck may not be the prettiest, may pour out diesel smoke, may be overly loud, and squeak, but there is nothing that will stop the stallion from getting a job done.  Here are a few pictures of the last 5 years.

Months ago we did a slight facelift to the original Amnesia Brewing location on N Mississippi in Portland.  We were able to use the material pulled out of the Washougal location to panel the cooler and add some needed storage.  We were given full reign of the design and were able to execute the installation within a 6 hour window allowing business to open without skipping a beat.  We did a trial time lapse of photos as we did the installation.
